Live & electric at the Salt Spring Public Library
In 2026, Local Motion set up a full live recording rig inside the Salt Spring Public Library — amps, Hammond, drum kit, horns, three vocal mics — and tracked the band the way it actually sounds: all eight players, together, in one room.
The sessions were produced by acclaimed Vancouver producer Felix Fung of Little Red Sounds, engineered by Ryan Shepard, in partnership with the Wilding Foundation and the Salt Spring Public Library.
Two tracks from the live sessions — recorded at the Library Pop-Up Studio with Felix Fung and Ryan Shepard. All three vocalists trading lead and harmony, the full eight-piece band locked in together.
Featuring guest guitarist Neil Kerrigan, sitting in for Local Motion's regular guitarist Mike Lurincic on the recording day.
Sarah Dawn Morris — original song over scenes from the recording day.
Recording-day photographs over an original song — written, performed, and produced by Sherry Leigh Williams.
